Fall 2008 Policy Research Internship
Position Description
The Policy Research Intern will work under the supervision of RAINN's Policy Director to help advance RAINN's anti-sexual assault policy agenda.
This is a part-time, unpaid, volunteer position, on-site at RAINN's offices in northwest Washington, DC.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Commitment to and/or interest in law enforcement issues
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate institution

Public Policy Activities
RAINN monitors and analyzes federal and state regulations and legislation relating to sexual assault. RAINN educates Members of Congress about issues of importance to rape victims and works collaboratively with allied organizations to advance an anti-sexual assault agenda. RAINN led a successful two-year effort to draft and secure passage of the DNA provisions of the "Justice for All Act of 2004," and maximizing the criminal justice use of DNA technology remains a top priority for RAINN.
